Our History

San Martin Jilotepeque, Chimaltenango

Our journey begins in the town of San Martin Jilotepeque, Chimaltenango, nestled just 20 kilometers away from the historic city of Antigua Guatemala. For four generations, our family has been deeply rooted in the tradition of coffee cultivation.

Traditionally, our beans found their way to the large sorting facilities that catered to giants like Starbucks Antigua. Yet, a dream lingered among us – a dream to break free from the constraints of these large operations and showcase the unique flavors of our local farms.

Our Pride

Here's David Solano, our cousin and was a champion of Guatemalan coffee baristas. With his achievements stretching back to the pre-pandemic era of 2017, 2018, and 2019, including a remarkable 3rd place finish at the WBC espresso championships in 2019, David brought expertise and passion to our endeavor.

Our Journey to Global Expansion

Big Beans Journey

We took charge of processing our beans, ensuring the highest quality at every step, and ventured into the global market. From Japan to Korea, from the United Arab Emirates to Germany, our beans found homes in the cups of coffee enthusiasts around the world.

Now, it's time for the USA to savor the flavors of our labor. We're making our mark here on the East Coast, collaborating with local roasters in the vibrant coffee scene of NYC.

Our Commitment

At Big Beans, we're not just selling coffee beans – we're sharing a legacy. Each bean tells a story, a story of dedication, passion, and the pursuit of perfection.
